Lloyd Pedersen and Catherine Stewart first began practicing together in 1999 and formed their own firm in 2003.

Attorney Pedersen has been handling civil litigation since 1985. Attorney Stewart began her career as a clerk to the Appellate Court of Connecticut in 1994 and entered private practice in 1995.

They are joined by Jill Labonte, who serves as legal assistant for the practice.

Lloyd Pedersen has represented insurer and insured in the context of first-party and third-party litigation (commercial and personal lines) since 1985. His practice includes jury verdicts in eight Connecticut judicial districts, involving cases ranging from wrongful death to soft tissue injury, negligent security to automobile accident.

His insurance coverage practice involves analysis of manuscript and ISO coverages (PAP, BAP, HO and CGL), including Completed Operations, False Pretense, Employment Related Practices and other policy provisions.

He has represented clients from trial through appeal to the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts in several matters, including Flint v. Universal Machine (propriety of a refusal to defend) and Sybalsky v. Glens Falls Insurance Company (implication of a New York uninsured motorist endorsement when accident occurs in Connecticut).

He is currently pursuing CPCU designation and is a frequent client lecturer on legislative and judicial developments in matters involving tort and insurance practice and coverage, Connecticut civil and claims procedure and alternative dispute resolution.

Catherine Stewart has represented insurers and insureds in professional malpractice, employment discrimination, coverage analysis, premises liability and worker’s compensation claims.

At Quinnipiac University School of Law, Catherine was a Law Review Grade-On candidate and received Distinguished Academic Achievement Awards in 1992 and 1993. She placed first in the Wofsey, Rosen Appellate Brief Writing Competition in 1992.

She has served as clerk to the Honorable E.Y. O’Connell of the Appellate Court of Connecticut, analyzing all aspects of appellate procedure and practice.
